London Calling

In 2007 we saw a wealth of Japanese sims pop up over the grid and their effects on the fashion community were instant. Today, we bring you a sim which is rooted in Japan, yet you’d swear you had just stepped onto the pages of a London fashion magazine.

TRILOGY: Fashion Alley in the Rain (Click for SLURL), is a sim created and managed by a team of Japanese store owners and designers. Ajika Lazslo, one of the creators and managers of TRILOGY, also the owner of Rooster, was kind enough to talk to us about the inspiration behind this wonderfully atmospheric sim.

“We love the town scape of London so we wanted to open our shop to look like a London town.” Ajika said. “But, I have not visited London.” he added with a laugh.

He may not have visited and unfortunately neither have I (Nic has, the lucky @&#%), but looking down the narrow alley amidst the sound of rain, we can’t help but feel a bit closer to the famed city.

Currently, there are four delightful shops which dot the cobblestone alleyway; Rooster, About, Slow Tempo, and Vogart. All feature affordable, trendy, vintage, London inspired couture, which served as the basis for our outfit theme.

While the promise of more stores is there, you won’t find any rental boxes here.

“If the shop matched our town and was of good quality… well, we don’t invite everyone.” Ajika shared. And even though the current shop owners are all Japanese, nationality is not a criteria pertaining to gaining a bit of alley space. “I don’t favour a creator’s nationality, I want a varied sense of values.”

The shops will hopefully bring you to TRILOGY, but it’s the quaint coffee shop and pub, Roots, that keeps Nic and I hanging around after our shopping is done. In fact, Nicolas once asked the owners if we could live there! We often find Thelma Coage and shunpei Allen behind the counter to greet us with a warm ‘hello’ in both Japanese and English, and they never hesitate to offer up a glass of champagne when they see us coming. The rain stained windows offer a perfect backdrop for lounging and chatting, so if you happen to see us there, please join us for a pint or two! We’re not the only ones that want to see you, as Ajika shared in closing: “Trilogy is a quiet, nice town. Please come here to listen to the rain – music and fashion are waiting for you.”

  1. Looks really neat! Although not sure how much like London … perhaps the converted warehouse area on teh South Bank. Not many cobbles left, on the whole. And it doesn’t ALWAYS rain in London, honest ;-))

  2. Sorry, that sounded ungrateful, thanks for the interesting write-up, it’s made me want to visit 😉

  3. Great pics you guys! Love the cobblestone and rain there…great choice in location.

  4. Thanks for introducing me to Trilogy, I visited today after seeing it on your blog.

I love it, there was something cosy about it even though it was raining – a lot of thought has gone into it, the raindrops on the windows, the building design and the imaginitive layout of the streets. Places like this are part of the reason I love SL.

    Thanks Dahlia and Nicolas!

  5. Wow what a great response! Don’t worry Sheila you don’t sound ungrateful at all. You’re right, it probably isn’t much like modern London, but maybe more of a vintage London we’re still clinging on to.

  6. Thanks Dove! It’s all about great poses 😉

  7. Creamy we’re so glad you were able to check it out and get a feel for the ambience they have put so much effort into creating. Maybe we’ll run into you there sometime?

  8. i love that song, i really like the way you wrote this blog too…and it just so happens to be the home of one of my favorite suits ever…cant you just feel the love?

  9. Wow! Great find. I’m going to stop by today 🙂
