Double Take: For Pete’s Sake, Kate!

Posh and Becks? Traitors! England has long since had a new reigning King and Queen of fashion.

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty bring a whole new meaning to Royal HIGHness, and they are a tabloid vs. fashion mash up to die for, or at least a really close call overdose. Their collective antics include shooting bizarre videos for his Youtube account (srsly, check them out), feeding crack to ducks at the local park, being evicted from awards shows, and of course, swirling engagement rumours amidst their on-again-off-again status. Britney only wishes she were this effed up! And despite it all they still managed to be snagged as the faces of Roberto Cavalli’s 2007/2008 men’s and women’s line.

Kate Moss brought cocaine chic to the mainstream. At first it was just a “look” until she got busted eating a line with her nose by The Daily Mirror. Then, after a quick dabble with rehab she was back on the scene and hotter than the flame heating the bottom of Pete’s spoon. The supermodel seems comfortable enough with Pete to sport a sod-all attitude where fashion is concerned, and even managed to make that trendy – hello Sienna Miller!

One of her music festival signatures is a basic t-shirt dress paired with a cropped jacket and a low slung belt. I added my favourite necklace from Earthtones to give it a boho effect and some vintage laced ankle boots for those inevitable muddy spots. Smudge that Rimmel, or in my case Dutch Touch, mascara and muss up the coiff and you’re sure to get VIP backstage access.

Pete Doherty…
Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny that he has definitely put his own stamp on the fashion, music, and drug scene. Named NME Magazine’s Hero of the Year for 2008 – Captain Crackhead? He has broken hearts (he and Kate are currently in their off cycle), bands (RIP Libertines), and a plethora of laws (duh), but we see no fashion crime in his trademark fedora topped black and white suit ensemble. While his lyrics are sometimes unintelligible and his motives even more so, this outfit requires no translation.

Nic swore off the pipe for this shoot and accessorized the aforementioned with a ciggy and a brew in a post rehab version of the Babyshambles frontman, aka Pete DOPErty.

We may need to sleep this one off for a while…

@Kalli – Pete and Kate are way more iconic, in my opinion, than Brangelina, or even Posh and Beck.. it was an obvious choice. Not to mention The Libertines, and Babyshambles rock the hell out, that helped too. Glad you enjoyed it Kalli, we definitely enjoyed making it!
